Everyone knows that Santa comes down the chimney to give good boys and girls presents on Christmas morning, so naturally, Santa would be expected to descend from the ceiling at the mall.

At least that was the plan; to surprise the kids and their parents who packed into the halls of the Broad Street Mall Reading in West Berkshire for their 2012 Christmas Light festivities to open Christmas season.

Santa was supposed to rappel down the sky light as a surprise, but it was Santa who was shocked to learn his beard became stuck in the rope

Thankfully, GI Joe was there to help Santa Clause, and Christmas was saved.

NSFW Warning – gun violence and language. (It’s war for heaven’s sake!)

You may have forgotten, but, yes, America is still fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. We’ve been there for so long, technologies that was once too expensive to equip soldiers with, such as helmet cameras, are now commonplace. More and more videos from combat are surfacing as a result.

This video was just published by Raw Combat Footage Documentation, a channel hyper focused on combat videos, and the video has already garnered over half a million views in just a day.

A US soldier wearing a helmet camera was in a machine gun fire fight with the Taliban in Kunar province. When he decided to descend the mountain, he took heavy fire and was hit a total of four times. Luckily, no rounds penetrated his body armor, and he only suffered minor injuries.

Some have blamed the soldier for getting shot, claiming he made the wrong decision to descend alone. Remember how easy that is to type while sitting in your comfy computer chair.

The dramatic video is showcased on NYDailyNews, TimeMediaite, TheDailyWhat, and Mashable

To the rest of us, going to war can seem exciting, as it has been romanticized in American culture for decades. But for soldiers actually getting ready to deploy, it can be an unsettling, even scary event.

Thankfully, Elizabeth Laird is always there to make deployment a bit easier. At Forth Hood, she is known as the ‚Hug Lady,‘ as she hugs every soldier leaving to or returning from war.
