Everyday, science is bringing us closer to the future. And the University of Minnesota is helping us all get there that much sooner with this just published video, appropriately titled Mind Over Mechanics, that demonstraes their jaw-dropping new feat of engineering.

The video features a quadcopter that can delicately fly through hoops and obstacles. But that’s not the amazing part. What’s incredible is that the robot is controlled with no hands.

The user simply thinks of where the robot should fly, and the brain-computer interface takes care of the rest. Hopefully, robots controlled by just thought will help and even free countless disabled people in the near future.

It’s that time of year again. Every year when the weather begins to warm countless prestigious institutions rally famous celebrities and comedians to speak at their commencement or graduation. Naturally, the speeches are extremely popular.

This year, students at University of Virginia  lucked out as web favorite Stephen Colbert was recruited to deliver the 2013 Valedictory Address at the school

He’s had practice, as the Comedy Central star went viral in 2011 after giving a speech at Northwestern

Already, the video is trending as the new week begins, and has appeared on TheStir, DailyOfTheDay, UpRoxx, NowMSN, and LaughingSquid

The web still isn’t over their love affair with HBO’s ultra popular fantasy franchise Game Of Thrones.

Just last week, the University Wisconsin-Madison was trending online when their bell tower covered the famous theme song from the popular cable series. That video has quickly garnered over half a million views

Now, Sydney University wants to get in on the action. Student FlavourWave was sitting outside the library when they recognized the tune being played from the carillon tower.

The video debuted over the weekend, and has already collected over 100,000 hits, appearing on Gizmodo, YouTubeTrends, and NineMSN.

For those no longer in high school or college, the unofficial green holiday of 4-20 was celebrated across college campuses in America this past Saturday.

For the most part, police have an unofficial policy of looking the other way at large events, such as the one that took place at Porter Meadows during the annual UC SC campus wide party. But that can only apply to the ubiquitous joint being passed around.

On the other hand, the police really don’t have much of a choice but to confiscate your contraband when they see you holding a two pound joint. Especially when you’re openly showing it off in public.

To make the scene even more surreal, the apparent owner of the two pounder can be heard yelling at the cops that he is going to take them to court.

“Dude, we’re going to court,” he yells at the cop surprisingly with no cuffs on. “We’re totally going to court.”

Obviously, things run a little differently in California

Now, the University Wisconsin-Madison is making viral headlines with this official university video of their bell tower playing the theme music for the ultra popular HBO show Game Of Thrones

Already, PopWatch, UpRoxx, CNet, and Neatorama have covered the new viral video.
