Biking Across And Documenting Lower Manhattan During Hurricane Sandy

Casey Neistat is a popular New York journalist and YouTuber, and knew he couldn’t pass up the chance to document Hurricane Sandy which pummeled the city on Tuesday.

So he and another brave New Yorker strapped on their light blinkers, waterproof gear, and helmets, and spent four hours biking across lower Manhattan, documenting the devastation in real time.

They caught some amazingly surreal scenes and images, including a Bentley covered to the glass in water.

NYC Girl In Pink Poncho Attempts To Brave Hurricane Sandy

Nearly the entire East Coast of America has been shut down as a result of Hurricane Sandy that is expected to dump severe weather on America’s Atlantic coast cities, flooding subways and tearing down power lines.

People have been warned to be prepared for the worst, but one girl in Washington Heights, Manhattan wanted to brave the storm. In her trusty pink poncho she set out into the powerful winds to record a video with her husband.

Let’s just say the storm won.

There’s just something so magical about a thunderstorm in the middle of the day. Rita Krill loves standing at her back porch enjoying a good storm, and decided to record the pounding rain.

At the last moment of the video, lightning strikes a tree, which naturally caused Rita to react in shock. Oddly enough, her dog just stands there as the world burns.

Tornado Caught On Camera Behind Pence, Kansas Wedding

The people of Pence, Kansas aren’t shocked by a funnel cloud or two. Even during a recent country wedding, guests didn’t seem phased in the slightest that a huge tornado was off in the distance behind them.

MrTwindad95 says, “This is my nephew and his beautiful brides wedding ceremony. A perfect country wedding complete with wheat, cowboy hats, boots,and tornadoes.”

Indiana Mom Who Lost Her Legs During Tornado Storms Walks On Ellen Show

Two months ago, tornado storms struck the Midwest, and tore through the Kentucky-Indiana border. After the storms calmed, one mom made national headlines when word of her raw heroism broke.

After realizing the twisters were coming, Stephanie Decker grabbed her two kids, ran for the basement, and lied on top of them. At one point, the storm literally picked up their home and when it came crashing down, fell on Stephanie’s legs.

She knew she would lose her legs if she didn’t move, but also realized that she couldn’t move as to protect her children. She chose her kids over her legs, and lost them due to injury.

Now, with new prosthetic legs, doctors told her it would take over a year to learn to walk again, but Decker proved them wrong during a visit to the The Ellen Show.
