But after PSY again went viral with Gentleman, Billie couldn’t help but point out on Twitter that PSY “is the herpes of music. Once you think it’s gone, it comes back.”
Elaine of Fuse asked PSY about the tweet last month, but now his reaction–where he admits he’s not sure exactly what herpes is–has gone viral for a second time, amassing an additional 200,000 views over the past few days.
Though not as great of a blockbuster as his original Gangnam Style smash hit, PSY’s second single Gentleman still stands on top of the YouTube charts with over 365 million hits. Not too shabby for a one time no name Korean pop star.
As most of the song is in Korean, Bart BaKer had trouble understanding the lyrics. Instead, he decided to make his own parody of the viral music video with a ridiculous interpretation fit for the web.
DJ’s are often introduced into pop music lyrics when the author runs out of words that will rhyme. The singer will usually call out to the DJ to play their song, or drop the beat, or do whatever phrase is currently in.
A slew of famous YouTubers make a special cameo appearance in the music video, such as Kassem G, Ed Bassmaster, and EpicLLOYD. But none of them can compare to Korean pop superstar PSY who appears at the intro and exit of the song.
