Visit Holland has created an instant viral hit in this new commercial, Holland The Original, promoting tourism in the small European country. The Netherlands are famous for many reasons, but Holland wants you to know about the less popular ones.

Like their fresh foods, unique shops, and cycling life styles.

Charlie Kelly sums up Amsterdam perfectly. “Amsterdam is full of pretentious hipsters and gorgeous women. It’s like heaven and hell at the same time basically.”

Nicolas Cage is one of those Hollywood celebrities fans love to bash online, in a friendly manner of course. Apparently, that applies to Europe as well.

In this short video, Dutch comedian Ronald Goedemondt performs a hilarious imitation of Nick Cage seeing a ghost while visiting the museum.

Though KKOPPI published the video at the end of 2012, it has only exploded, amassing over 1.2 million views, over the past week.

As their name suggests, Amsterdam In Video specializes in all things Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Over the weekend, their first video to go viral hit the trending charts, amassing 85,000 views in just a matter of days.

In the short video, which roughly translates to Helmsmanship the canal, an extremely long passenger boat attempts to make too sharp of a turn to Amsterdam’s narrow canals. To a passerby, the boat seemed to be heading directing into the canal wall!

But at the last moment, the captain turned the engines to the left as far as possible and hit the gas. Incredibly, the boat sailed through the narrow canal without even the slightest hiccup.

YouTuber ForsakenMadMan appropriately retitles the video, “Amsterdam drift.”

With the magic of YouTube, fads like the now dreaded Harlem Shake can spread across the world with swift ease. Dutch Parkinson’s awareness group Vereniging Parkinson joined the ‘fun’ with this very serious PSA that seems to start off like any other Harlem Shake video.

But then the shaking dancer that is the focus of the video falls over. He wasn’t dancing the Harlem Shake, he has Parkinson’s Disease!

The week old, in-your-face PSA, appropriately titled Worst Harlem Shake Ever, stands with over 90,000 hits. Some viewers think the advert went to far, but the majority agree the message definitely hits home, and that’s all that matters.

While America is still stuck in the 20th century with crumbling roads and weakened bridges, Europe seems to be moving ahead. The Netherlands is really charging full steam forward into the future with ambitious plans for a futuristic highway system that glows in the dark

The highway uses special paint that takes in energy during daylight hours, and disperses it at night to illuminate road markings. Even small LED lights on the shoulder have pinwheels to recycle wind energy from passing cars
