Why is every ‘genius’ super villain brain dead?

Stone, played by Edward Norton, is weeks from his parole. Stone’s wife, played by Milla Jovovich, tries to help get him out of jail by being ‘extra’ nice to the officer in charge. After the officer, played by Robert De Niro, gives in to temptation, the emotions of all three begin to fly.
