Anthony Sherin, with The New York Times, discovered a lone piano outside his apartment on the streets of Manhattan in the Washington Heights neighborhood, and as a social experiment, decided to documented the serendipitous results.
At first, people just stopped to check it out, and maybe play a few keys. Some played well. Others didn’t.
But after time, the dark side of New York emerged, and, like a pack of vultures, NYers swooped in, smashed the piano, and took whatever they thought they could salvage.
Sadly, Manhattan is no Tel Aviv.
