Beach goers and tourists were treated to some very special guests at a beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A group of playful manatees swam up to the shallow coast, even allowing swimmers to pet them.

Life guards panicked trying to get the people out of the water, but it seems everyone ignored them, enjoying their rare close encouter with nature. The video is featured on HuffingtonPost, Local10, and SunSentinel.
