A glass harp is simply an array of glasses filled with ascending amounts of water. When the edges are rubbed, different notes can be played.

In this viralviralvideo, a street performer plays the famous tune by Leonard Cohen Hallelujah on a glass harp in front of a group of passersby. No playback, no computers, no auto-tune, and no nonsense. Just amazing music made with glass and water.

A glass harp, which is made up of wine glasses with different amount of water, have a very specific sound. No song is more fit for the harp than Hedwig’s song from the Harry Potter series.

Japanese glass harp musician  published his cover of Hedwig’s song nearly a year and a half ago, but only now has it deservingly gone viral.

This video is from last February, but, as Christmas quickly approaches, only now has become a viral sensation. Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky may be one of the most famous songs from the Nut Cracker. The only way to make it sound even more magical and ‘sparkly’ is to play it on a glass harp, a quasi instrument made entirely from wine glasses filled with different amounts of water. The video is featured on Neatorama
