All the usual political pundits have added in their two cents, but now an unexpected Internet face has stepped on stage.

As a spoof of the recent events, and as a early celebration of the Fourth of July, Laina, better known as Overly Attached Girlfriend, dressed up as Uncle Sam and sang a reassuring song to calm the American people to the tune of The Star Spangled Banner.

San Diego July 4th Fireworks 2012 Up Close In HD

San Diego was the winner of this year’s very unofficial July 4th fireworks competition when the entire show went off all at once due to a malfunction, creating a one of a kind fireworks show that was very short lived.

There were countless fireworks bans across the country this past Fourth of July due to a serious drought affecting much of the Midwest. But that didn’t stop Americans from all 50 great states from lighting their fireworks to celebrate their Independence.

And as usual, there’s always a couple wise guys who attempt to take their fireworks celebration to the next level. This year, that will be robobobo59 who lit over 500 Piccolo Pete whistling fireworks all at once. The results are as loud and explosive as expected.

Mayor Bloomberg’s Pun Packed Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Speech

Nathan’s hot dogs goes together with New York City like PB & J. And for decades, Nathan’s has held a now famous and very traditional hot dog eating contest.

This year, Mayor Michael Bloomberg himself opened for the contest with the cheesiest, corniest, ‘pun-iest’ hot dog themed speech ever that has been published by Gothamite.

Even the mayor himself seemed surprised by all the bad jokes, and at one point even asked, “Who wrote this sh*t?” causing the crowd to hoot and howl in laughter.
