In general, the police has a pretty bad name on the Internet, with countless videos of police brutality having gone viral.

But the Portland Police are set to change that. On a regular drizzly day, Portland Police Traffic Officer Mark James caught a car doing 52 in a 35.

He quickly set out to catch the speeder, but was interrupted by a mother duck and her ducklings taking a stroll in the middle of the road.

The kind-hearted officer safely escorted the family of fowl into a ditch where they promptly swam away. And so did the speeder.

Oh well.

Now, the day old video has gone viral, quickly garnering over 100,000 hits.

Adorably suspenseful videos of a mother duck separated from her young ducklings by an obstruction is nothing new online.

Over the weekend, Jenny Pan happened upon a mother duck on campus with her ducklings stuck on a tiny ledge.

Well, tiny to us humans, but a terrifying cliff to the ducklings. After two dramatic minutes, the ducklings daringly jump down to mom, one by one.

In just a few days, the video has already garnered over 150,000 views.

Chloe Broomfield published this adorable short video an entire year ago, but it has only gone viral now, amassing over 200,000 views in less than a week.

The quick clip features Dexter the baby duckling trying his best to stay awake in accounting class, yet eventually succumbing to his sleepiness. Falling during class isn’t unheard of after all.

Texas Girly 1979 published this adorable Halloween-pet video a day after the spooky holiday, but it has just experienced a second surge of viewership online now, appearing on LaughingSquid, DListed, HuffPost, and BuzzFeed

The web has seen plenty of cats riding on Roombas before, but nothing like this. A cat, dressed as a Halloween shark, rides the robotic floor cleaner as a giddy baby duckling runs along. Finally, a witch dog appears just as the Roomba runs out of juice.

As CthulhuSteev says, “The disappointment as the Roomba shuts off is palpable.”

This adorable video was posted by  all the way back in 2010, but since the summer, it has garnered more than 150,000 views. Recently, it has been featured on TastefullyOffensive and HuffingtonPost, further launching the video into viral-dom.

All that happens is a cute baby duckling goes for a very short swim in the kitchen sink while mom records bath time for all to enjoy online. And that’s exactly what the web wants.
