Chrysler hit a home run last year with their serious Eminem narrated Super Bowl commercial, and they seem to have struck gold again this year. Word famous actor and director Clint Eastwood stars in and narrates this uplifting and patriotic commercial that aired during halftime of the big game. Eastwood sent chills down every American’s spine when he said, “It’s halftime America, and our second half is about to begin.”

The game hasn’t started yet, but Chevy has already gone viral with their Silverado Super Bowl commercial. The ad depicts a great post-apocalyptic city that seems completely devastated from some type of Mayan 2012 predicted Armageddon.

It’s ironic that ‘American’ car companies like Chevy and Ford are outsourcing more and more of the building of their vehicles to Mexico and Canada, while Toyota, Hyundai, and even BMW are actually opening factories in America, hiring American workers. The line between ‘American’ and ‘imported’ is quickly blurring.
To bring light to this fact, Hyundai focused on Americanism and inspiration for their Super Bowl commercial. When a Hyundai designer gets stumped on a new idea, the real employees at the new Montgomery, Alabama Hyundai plant sing the classic Rocky theme to inspire and motivate their co-worker.
