Even popular British comedian Ricky Gervais is getting in on YouTube Comedy Week.

Most Americans know that Michael Scott is the lovable, obnoxious boss from The Office, played by Steve Carell. But only dedicated fans will remember that the popular sitcom is actually based off the original British show created by Ricky.

The awkward, weird boss in the British show is David Brent, also played by Ricky. In honor of Comedy Week, Ricky has brought David back to life to star in this self-explanatory video Learn Guitar With David Brent.

Already, the video has amassed over 300,000 views, and is covered on EOnline, HuffPost, DigitalSpy, and Telegraph

Countless countries around the world are dealing with serious budgetary issues. Add in the fact that recession is still ravaging the world market, and it’s no surprise that the immigrant is often the scapegoat of the people.

British YouTuber Hollie McNish doesn’t think they are the problem though. She thinks it’s just the Mathematics of the issue.

She published this poem about immigration policy in Britain back in February, but it has just exploded today, amassing over 300,000 views.

English film director Danny Boyle has noticed a trend in the movie making business that’s been going on for decades. Other cinephiles may have also picked up on the wave, even if they can’t directly put their finger on it.

Boyle refers to the phenomenon as the “Pixarification of movies.”

Since Star Wars, he says, more and more movies, especially the big expensive studio movies, are “family friendly.”

“The writers have fled to television, and now what you see on cable television is much more dangerous than the cinema. That’s the wrong way round. The television is at home with the parents.”
