If a child was asked, ‘which would win in a fight, a gorilla or goose,’ they would obviously answer the gorilla. But as any grown person knows, size isn’t the only factor in a fight in the animal kingdom.

Zoo staff at the Sedgwick County Zoo caught a stand off between a gorilla and a goose which had flown into it’s exhibit. The two creatures stared each other down until finally, the goose had enough and charged the great ape.

Even more incredible is the fact that the gorilla cowered in surrender. Of course, the camera’s microphone picks up many more out of sight geese.

Perhaps the ape knew better than to mess with one goose of a much greater flock…

This video from 2011 went viral a year ago, and is trending ago now after appearing on ArbroathUniqueDaily, DailyPicks, and SayOMG.

Baby Sophia took her first trip to the zoo, held closely tight to her mother’s chest. Mom took her to see the orangutan exhibit, but it was one of the great orange apes who was interested in Sophia.

The orangutan seems have a mother’s instinct, as she apparently oohs and ahhs over the human babe, pressing her face against the glass to get a better look.

Midwest Tongs rescued an adorable White Handed Gibbon Ape that they appropriately named ‘APEril.’ The six month old ape is in a playful mood, but her roommate, Chuck the cat, does not share the sentiment. Nevertheless, Chuck is patient and allows the shenanigans.

The cute duo are showcased on Gawker, Stuff, WhatsTrendingHuffPost, and Metro

The Milwaukee County Zoo were one of the first zoos to give their orangutans access to the iPad to play with and manipulate. Now, the Jungle Island Zoo in Miami, Florida is using the iPad not just as a toy for the orangutans, but as a communication tool.

Orangutans are famous for being very intelligent, they just lack verbal skills and a voice box. With the iPad, they can finally show us that they are thinking, feeling creatures. Already, the great apes are able to choose their own lunches with a special application.

The Milwaukee County Zoo conducted an experiment where they introduced iPads to some of the great apes they have with them. The orangutans really reacted positively, enjoying the finger painting and music apps. Unsurprisingly, the great apes enjoy the iPad in very similar ways people do. The video is from August, but only now became a viral hit and is featured on DailyMail, GlobalPost, and VentureBeat.
