I don’t use Direct TV anymore, but liked them when I had them. The commercial is funny, but most of all it went viral because of the giraffe. That is a fantastic piece of special effects. It looked so real and cute that I stop what I’m doing to watch the commercial every time.

I don’t know why, but this is my FAVORITE commercial. I crack up every time. I actually play it back when I’m DVR’ing. Am I nuts? The guy is perfect for this commercial. We need to see some sequels of this commercial with this guy!

This is a 100% real character of new-Russian rich people. Several years ago, they did not have two nickels rob each other and today they own all country recourses and not care that most people in Russia live in misery. Russians love this commercial.
Several friends of mine dumped Comcast because of this commercial. If that giraffe would be included in the plan, all country will switch to DirecTV. Every time we watch it we laugh. Thank you DirecTV. Unfortunately I stuck with Comcast until I move to another development.

Here in Charlotte, North Carolina there’s a home accent store called KIRKLAND’S that has a ceramic copy of that sitting girafe in the same size and pose. I have one on the TV.
The cute girl next to this guy is Kelly Hazel King. It took me a while to find that. I really like the way she wears that dress-lol. I’m sure we will be able to buy those little giraffes at Walmart by Xmas. This commercial is tied in my mind with the Allstate mahem commercial and the teen girl with the pink suv. Both are great, really funny stuff.

it’s funny! the way he incorrectly says common english phrases, the rediculous “opulence” and yes the mini giraffe…all funny! they need to make more commercials with this guy in it. he is a great actor.
Love it, but never even noticed the dogs until reading these comments. If those gold bricks were real , she would have to be pretty strong. Probably about 180 pounds she waving around.

OMG, I hate this commercial, Yeah the woman and the giraffe are ok, But I would specifically not purchase from Direct TV as to not contribute to the continued airing of this commercial.

Sometimes I just want to shoot my TV, thank the lord for the MUTE button, however dark, tiny and hard-to-find it is. Thanks to the Senate too as they just recently passed a law a couple days ago to keep commercial volume down.
Whomever thought up this Russian theme commercial did their homework. It’s better than some of he best Superbowl commercials. Maybe if your on booze and crack or otherwise half-conscious most of the day, you like the insurance commercials like the screaming pig in the not-so-retro-twighlight-zone-host—themed Geico commercials or the guy yelling “yes” to the ditzy-sales-lady-with-fake-eyelashes in Progressive commercials and good ole Billie Mays …loud enough to wake you out of your chemically-induced stupor.
I have to wonder how brain dead some the advertising execs are who think loud and obnoxious is a good idea. Those commercials only make me want to buy from their competition even if I have to pay a little more.
Now that someone mentioned dogs playing poker, I have to see the commercial again. Timothy V. Murphy is the Russian guy. Apparently he’s been in a lot of TV shows and movies like National Treasure, Six Feet Under and Murder She Wrote. Darn, I wish I could write commercials!

OMG…I love watching this video. Me thinks the Russian guy is HOT HOT HOT!!! OMG DADDY!!!! He is the same actor who plays a doctor on some prescription drug commercial (Plavix perhaps).
Horrible ad. Typical though. Anything touched by Russians turns to crap. The only people who enjoy this searing piece of eye-pain are other idiot Russians. Don’t believe me? The horrid attempt at English gives them away in their comments. Russians need to quit being visible and go back to stealing cars and bread lines.

Man so many people are stuck on American (not English). In other languages prepositions are implied and not always stated. The “in” vs. “on” kind of thing. It trips up many people for whom American is not the native language.
Part of the humor is us making fun of folks tripped up by our language. It’s kind of like the French making fun of Americans trying to cope in France. (Well they always make fun of me anyway)
You don’t get it with the dogs playing poker, do any of you? Everyone has seen the picture/painting! of the dogs playing poker, but he actually has the dogs themselves. Opulance is when you can afford the subject of the painting, not just the original itself. That has to be one of the great sight gags of all time. And it was so quick, nobody would even have missed them. That! is attention to detail.

He’s an irish actor Tim Murphy, he uses his own accent on Criminal Minds playing Ian Doyle. I think he looks like the new Magneto – Michael Fassbender’s older brother.
